In 1890, in the heart of Italy’s most renowned shoe manufacturing district, in Cascinare (a village near Sant’Elpidio a Mare), Pasquale Scolaro established a quality artisan workshop to produce comfortable, hand-crafted women’s shoes. This marked the beginning of a business that still carries the Scolaro name. Memorabilia and shoes from the past are now displayed at the Shoe Museum (Museo della Calzatura) in Sant’Elpidio a Mare, in the province of Fermo.
Toward the end of the 1960s, the second generation of Scolaros rose to the challenge of industrialization and opened the manufacturing facility in Cascinare. Holding true to the tradition of fine craftsmanship, they achieved marvelous results that generated constant growth in sales across international markets.
Today, the third generation of Scolaros, is still strongly committed to the traditional values of Made in Italy craftsmanship. Defying globalization, we have redefined the concept of stylish yet comfortable footwear, offering three brands of women’s footwear to markets around the world. Scolaro 1890, our first line, aligns sophisticated style and comfort; Simonetta B Milano is designed for the consumer who follows fashion closely but not at the cost of comfort; and Benessere, our orthopedic line with a modern flair.
